Explore Coorg on a city tour (Private). Today after a sumptuous breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Coorg. Visit Omkareshwara Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Build by King Lingarajendra II in around 1820; it is a brilliant blend of Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture. Next, head to the famous landmark in the city of Coorg, the Madikeri Fort, one of the relics of the glorious past of Karnataka. The fort stands in the center of the Madikeri town, still preserving the remnants of a bygone era within its proud walls. The most salient feature of the fort is that there are two masonry elephants installed outside the front gate which draws attention of the visitors upon their entrance to the fort. The fort is a great vantage point to see the entire city of Coorg from atop. Later, visit Abbey Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Karnataka originating from the river Cauvery which offers an astounding view of the gushing water from the soaring mountain cliffs. It is a very pleasant location for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts.

Enjoy a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp (Private). Today, proceed to visit Dubare Elephant Camp, which houses a large number of elephants and is one of the largest man-made camps for pachyderms. Here, you can interact with the elephants up close and personal and you can also learn about them through certain activities such as feeding, grooming them or watching them being pampered.Get acquainted with the history, ecology and biology of elephants from trained naturalist.

COORG - BANDIPUR

Visit the Naina Devi Temple and Hanuman Garhi (Private). Post breakfast, proceed to Bandipur, the most famed national parks in India, established by the erstwhile Maharajas of Mysore as private hunting grounds. It is one of the best sanctuaries for viewing and photographing wildlife. On arrival, check in to the hotel/resort.

The day is at leisure, one can opt to enjoy safari and other activities in the National Park. The forest is varied, ranging from dry scrub vegetation in the east to moist deciduous forests in the west along with a wide variety of flora and fauna.

ARRIVE KOCHI

Welcome to your 'Glorious Kerala 'tour! On arrival at the airport in Kochi or railway station in Ernakulum, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Kochi (Private). In the afternoon, proceed on a city tour of Kochi visiting places like St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, The Jewish Synagogue and view the Chinese fishing nets near Fort Kochi area.

Begin with a visit to the St. Francis Church, one of the oldest churches in India, built by Europeans in the Indo gothic style of architecture. Originally built in 1503, the church has witnessed many skirmishes between Indians and the Britishers. It was declared a protected monument in 1923. Continue, to the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace which was built in 1555 and served as a gift to the local Raja of Kochi. The palace stands as a testament of the Dutch rule over Kochi and neighbouring areas. The palace now exhibits temple art, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi.

Next, visit the Jewish Synagogue, also called the Pardesi Synagogue, located at the corner of the Jew town in the city of Kochi. It is a prayer house or shrine for people from the Jewish faith. Built in 1568, the synagogue has a 500 year old history attached to it. Lastly, visit Chinese fishing nets also called Cheena vala are the fishing installations made in Kochi. Each net has a limited area and depth of operation. These fishing nets make a beautiful backdrop for photography.

Post sightseeing return to the hotel.

KOCHI - MUNNAR

This morning, drive to the picturesque countryside of Munnar which is surrounded by lush green tea estates. On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Today after breakfast, proceed on a wonderful excursion to Kufri. Located at distance of 15 km from Shimla, Kufri is well known for its ski slopes and stunning views.

MUNNAR

Explore the Rose Garden and Tata Tea Museum (Private). Today, visit the Rose Garden and fall in love with the sight of a variety of beautiful roses in the garden. Also, find various other plants like vanilla, fruits, cardamom, spices, etc. The beauty and mesmerizing effect of this garden will leave you spell bound. Next, visit the Tata Tea Museum, which depicts the history of tea plantations and processing since the older times. Learn how the tea is made right from plantation to the leaves plucking, grounding and finally the tasting.

Note: Tata Tea Museum is closed on Mondays.

Visit Echo Point and Mattupetty Lake (Private). In the afternoon, visit Echo Point, the valley is acoustically inclined to reverberate the sounds that enter it. With beautiful lush green landscapes, serene surroundings and a favourable climate all year around, this calm and tranquil hilltop is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Also, visit the Mattupetty Lake which is flanked by steep hills and woods and has been created by the small hydro-electric dam. Marvel at the thick forest surrounding the dam along with sightings of wild animals especially elephants.

Day 4
MUNNAR - THEKKADY

Transfer from hotel in Munnar to hotel in Thekkady, en route enjoy a Spice Plantation tour (Private). Today, proceed to Thekkady, en route enjoy a spice plantation tour and get acquainted with numerous spices and plants of various types. For centuries, Kerala has grown and exported spices around the world. See how cultivation of a wide varieties of spices, including cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, nutmeg, and tea and coffee, is done. Interact with the locals to get an invaluable insight into the farming techniques, climate knowledge and culture.

On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (Private).

Later, in the afternoon, drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a perfect example of nature's bounty with scenic beauty and bio diversity. It is one of the most protected areas for elephant and tigers. One can find many other species of animals and birds which includes gaur, sambar, wild pig, lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri tahr, Malabar grey hornbill, Nilgiri wood pigeon, flycatcher, etc. Marvel at the picturesque lake as you enjoy a boat ride.
